وزارت دادگستری دانمارک روز چهارشنبه اعلام کرد که بین دولت و سه حزب در این کشور برای اجاره 300 سلول در کوزوو به توافق رسیده است که برای گذراندن دوران محکومیت در بین زندانیان توزیع خواهد شد.

وزارت دادگستری دانمارک در بیانیه ای اعلام کرد که هدف از این توافق کاهش ازدحام بیش از حد زندان ها و ایجاد 326 مکان جدید برای زندانیان بین سال های 2022 تا 2025 است.

سال گذشته 350 زندانی از زندان های دانمارک به سایر زندان های خارج از این کشور برای گذراندن باقیمانده دوران محکومیت خود منتقل شدند.

بر اساس آمارهای رسمی، تعداد زندانیان در دانمارک در اوایل سال 2021 با 19 درصد افزایش به بیش از 4000 زندانی رسیده است، در حالی که زندان ها در حال حاضر با 100 درصد ظرفیت خود کار می کنند، در حالی که تعداد زندانبانان در این کشور 18 درصد کاهش یافته است. .

نیک حکراب وزیر دادگستری در بیانیه ای گفت که دانمارک تا سال 2025 1000 زندان نخواهد داشت و افزود که طرح جدید علاوه بر صدها مکان در کشور برای 300 زندانی در کوزوو مکان هایی در نظر می گیرد.
